The ex-president of the Dominican Republic,
Leonel Fernández, attended the XI Plenary Meeting of
the "Montevideo Circle," hosted at the Palacio de

A good share of the efforts at this meeting was devoted to

Status, Citizens' Perception, Indicators, and Agenda."

with his comments and suggestions, include ex-presidents from
Latin America, the Caribbean, and Spain, and a delegation
from the World Commission on the Social Dimension of the Globalization

a progress report on its own work.
´´Both topics are among the central issues of
our activities in recent years," said Julio María
Sanguinetti, founder of the Montevideo Circle.
The former Uruguayan president added that "as usual,
the meeting gave us the chance to go over various political
events of recent months, which undoubtedly deserve special
attention.´´
A formal dinner hosted by the President of
the Generalitat, Jordi Pujol, in honor of the members of the
Montevideo Circle and observers to the XI Plenary Meeting
